Inside the five-year restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral

Over five years, 250 companies and hundreds of artisans have been involved in restoring the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The restoration began by clearing debris and securing the building post-fire. Reconstruction started in January 2022, with a new roof frame made from 2,000 oak trees. The spire’s frame is wooden, covered in lead, and the interior has been refurbished with cleaned organ pipes and a relaid floor.
