Akash Ambani walks to RCB’s auction table to shake hands after Will Jacks deal

The Mumbai Indians franchise was over the moon after successfully signing England all-rounder Will Jacks on Day 2 of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, held on Monday, November 25. Jacks was sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 5.25 crore after a fierce bidding war with the Punjab Kings. Interestingly, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), known for their surprising decisions in the auction, chose not to use their Right to Match (RTM) card to retain Jacks, despite having two RTM cards left after using one for spinner Swapnil Singh.

The Mumbai Indians camp erupted with joy at securing Jacks, whom they consider a steal at the price. Team members exchanged congratulatory greetings as the deal was finalised. Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani, visibly delighted, was seen patting her son, Akash Ambani, on the back to celebrate the moment. Akash, equally thrilled, stood up from his seat to shake hands with the RCB management.

In a remarkable display of sportsmanship, Akash walked over to the RCB auction table and exchanged pleasantries with their management team. The interaction appeared to be a gesture of gratitude, acknowledging RCB’s decision not to use the RTM card to reclaim Jacks. The moment highlighted the mutual respect between the two franchises, even amidst the high-stakes competition of the IPL auction.
