Drone video shows scale of destruction in Russia’s Kamchatka after monster quake

One of the most powerful earthquakes since 2011 struck Russia’s Far East early Wednesday, as an 8.8-magnitude tremor rocked the Kamchatka Peninsula, prompting tsunami warnings across the northern Pacific. It was the strongest quake recorded in the region since 1952. Several intense aftershocks followed, and seismologists have warned of potential tremors reaching up to magnitude 7.5 in the coming weeks. A tsunami wave reached North Kurilsk, inundating parts of the settlement and a local fishing facility.
