Indian Railways launches new ‘RailOne’ app: With an aim to bring more convenience to passengers, Indian Railways has launched a new ‘superapp’ called RailOne as a one stop app for all railway related queries and needs.The new RailOne app will host all passenger services in one app – booking IRCTC reserved, unreserved and platform tickets, tracking PNR and train status, coach position, Rail Madad and travel feedback, sources told TOI.

  • The RailOne app’s primary focus is delivering an enhanced user experience through a straightforward and uncluttered interface.
  • It consolidates all railway services in one location whilst incorporating various service integrations to provide users with comprehensive Indian Railway functionalities.
  • The new RailOne app is accessible for download on both Android PlayStore and iOS App Store platforms.
  • A distinctive feature is the single-sign-on capability, eliminating the need to remember multiple passwords.
  • Users can register using their existing RailConnect or UTSonMobile credentials upon installation.
  • Additionally, users no longer need separate applications for different Indian Railway services, effectively reducing device storage requirements.
  • The application includes R-Wallet (Railway e-wallet) functionality. Users can access their accounts through simple numeric mPIN and biometric login options.

Indian Railways travellers presently access multiple apps and websites for different services. These include IRCTC Rail Connect for booking tickets, IRCTC eCatering Food on Track for ordering meals, Rail Madad for providing feedback, UTS for purchasing unreserved tickets, and National Train Enquiry System for monitoring train movements.IRCTC Rail Connect, which holds exclusive rights for reserved ticket bookings, has surpassed 100 million downloads, establishing itself as the railway’s most popular application.External travel booking platforms rely on IRCTC for train bookings, demonstrating its significant role in online railway reservations.

Indian Railways: Three Big Changes To Train Ticket Booking

Indian Railways is also implementing significant changes to its passenger reservation system, focusing on three major modifications to enhance traveller comfort. These changes encompass a revised tatkal booking process, modifications to waitlist chart preparation and comprehensive upgrades to the reservation infrastructure.
