Bengaluru FC owner Parth Jindal complained about getting hit by a firecracker during Saturday’s final in the Indian Super League. Jindal tweeted out in frustration during the match, slamming the alleged lapse of security at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
Parth Jindal has been a regular at Bengaluru FC matches for many years and was present at Salt Lake in the team’s final against Mohun Bagan Super Giants. In the match, Bengaluru were beaten 2-1 in extra time by Mohun Bagan, despite the away side taking a lead in the second half of the match.
“Have just been hit with a firecracker at the stadium while I’m cheering for my boys Bengaluru FC. Is this the security we can expect in an ISL final in Kolkata?” Parth Jindal tweeted during the match on Saturday.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant completed a historic Indian Super League double on Saturday, April 12, lifting the ISL Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bengaluru FC in a tense final. The final’s win added to the League Winners’ Shield which they had secured earlier in the season.
After a goalless first half, Bengaluru FC took the lead in the 49th minute when Mohun Bagan’s Alberto Rodrguez inadvertently turned the ball into his own net. The Mariners responded in the 72nd minute, as Jason Cummings calmly converted a penalty to level the score.
With the teams locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes, the match went into extra time. Just six minutes in, Jamie Maclaren found the back of the net, sending the passionate Mohun Bagan supporters at Salt Lake Stadium into wild celebrations.
With this victory, Mohun Bagan became only the second team in ISL history to win both the League Winners’ Shield and the ISL Cup in the same season, following in the footsteps of Mumbai City FC, who achieved the feat in the 2020–21 campaign.
