NEET UG 2025: MCC extends round 1 seat resignation deadline to September 3 – The Times of India


NEET UG Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has granted NEET UG 2025 candidates additional time to reconsider their choices by extending the Round 1 seat resignation deadline to September 3, 2025, 5:00 PM. This decision allows students to withdraw from their allotted seats without forfeiting the security deposit, providing relief amid the intense pressure of medical admissions. The move comes as part of MCC’s efforts to ensure a fair, transparent, and candidate-friendly counselling process, giving aspirants more flexibility to make informed decisions about their preferred colleges and courses.

Round 1 resignation deadline extended

Candidates who secured seats in Round 1 now have additional time to reconsider their options. The MCC has confirmed that even students who have already reported to their respective colleges can resign their seats until September 3, 2025, without losing the security deposit paid during counselling.This extension comes as part of MCC’s effort to streamline the counselling process and ensure fair opportunities for all candidates, particularly those awaiting the commencement of Round 2.

PwD candidates get additional support

In a separate announcement, the MCC confirmed the addition of 13 new Disability Centres to assist PwD (Persons with Disability) candidates in generating their disability certificates.
