Separatist militants in Pakistan’s Balochistan province attacked a passenger train on Tuesday, injuring the train driver. The militants claimed control of the train and said that over 100 passengers had been taken hostage.
The train was travelling from Quetta in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when it came under fire, railway officials said.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a militant separatist group seeking autonomy for the region, claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that they had taken hostages from the train, including security personnel.
