Days after he jokingly said that he would “love to be the next pope”, US President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself dressed in papal attire. The image, which was also posted by the official handle of the White House, invited brickbats from a section of users on social media, who found it insensitive after the death of Pope Francis.
The image shows Trump dressed in papal attire with a cross around his neck. While some users saw the humourous side of it, others accused Trump of mocking Francis’s death just days after he attended his funeral.
