ODI Series – Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad and Tobago Uncapped batter Hasan Nawaz has already made headlines in the T20I setup this year. After beginning his career with two ducks against New Zealand in March, he stunned the cricket world by smashing the fastest T20I century by a Pakistani in just his third game. He followed that high with consistent scores against Bangladesh but endured another lean patch in the recent away series. Salman Mirza and Abbas Afridi have been dropped after the Bangladesh series, while Mohammad Nawaz and Hussain Talat retain their spots in both squads.

Do you think the PCB made the right decision by focusing on T20Is?
This tour will mark Mike Hesson’s first assignment in charge of Pakistan’s ODI team. The PCB has been focusing heavily on T20I cricket in the lead-up to next year’s T20 World Cup, having even scrapped the ODI leg of their home series against Bangladesh in May. Despite reports suggesting Pakistan preferred more T20Is over the ODIs against West Indies, the 50-over series remains intact. The team is scheduled to reach the USA on July 27, following the end of their series in Bangladesh.
