“Virat is probably the greatest all-format player we’ve seen in the last 15 years. He had his own challenges in an absolute cricket-obsessed country, and he was at the top of the tree. It’s a great relationship in slightly different ways. We’ve stayed in touch in a lot of ways as well. But, yeah, it was not really a competitive thing. You’re just in the team and you want to compete as a team,” Williamson said on SkySports.

Kohli enjoyed greatest peak among all the fab four batters, scoring a plethora of runs at an inimitable consistency across all three formats. The star batter achieved the number one rank in all three formats, which further raised his stakes as the best all-format batter in the current generation.

Kohli retired from T20Is as the second-highest run scorer with 4188 runs to his name. He recently retired from Tests with 9230 runs to his name from 123 matches with 30 centuries and 31 fifties. Kohli will now only play in the 50-over format for India, where he already holds the record for most centuries in the format having breached the three-figure mark 51 times. It remains to be seen where Kohli will end his ODI career.
